With less than five weeks remaining in the calendar year 2006 we believe that investors should, once again, be alert to potential profitable investment opportunities. For instance, as large financial institutions gradually wind down their investment operations in early December and as individual investors become more focused on the Christmas holiday season, shopping for gifts and vacations, the securities markets become rather thin, illiquid and imperfect.
Frequently, interesting buy and sell opportunities do occur for the watchful investor during the last few weeks of the year. This seasonality is well worth remembering.
