VALUE CHECK - JUNE 28, 2005

As we end the month of June, traditional summer-seasonal stock trading patterns emerge.  For instance, at this time most investors appear to be more concerned with family holidays, summer camp and week-end cottage getaways.

Overall, investors tend to be less aggressive as the market becomes increasingly thin and volatile.  On the contrary, this July to August period is an excellent time to be actively pruning, buying and recalibrating stock portfolios.  With many investors absent due to summer seasonality, excellent buying and selling opportunities frequently occur.  This circumstance often presents profitable windows of opportunity for the alert investor.
