VALUE CHECK - JANUARY 29, 2003

With the continuing market volatility and uncertainty relating to a potential Iraq war, fragile U.S. economic recovery, increasing U.S. government deficits and the past three year poor stock market performance, it is very easy for investors to throw in the towel to avoid the stock market entirely.

On the contrary, we believe this investment negativity and price volatility are presenting selective profitable opportunities.  Nonetheless, we believe investors must presently establish or reaffirm their investment objectives and stick to their disciplines no matter how volatile the investment markets may appear.  Accordingly, in spite of the present market turmoil, we remain positive on the investment outlook over the next 12-18 months.
